In our latest blog, Taskize’s Rohan Murphy recaps our key takeaways from ISITC’s 31st Annual Securities Operations Summit
Representing Taskize, I connected with clients and contacts from across the region and discussed how our comms and collaboration platform reduces capital market risk and enhances post-trade operational efficiencies across the securities sector.
Set against the backdrop of Boston’s revitalised seaport district, this year’s event – under the theme “Resilience Through Innovation: Preparing for the Next Decade in Financial Services” – offered a valuable opportunity to explore the challenges and innovations shaping the future of the securities industry.
What’s ahead for T+1?
One of the most highly attended sessions was focused on the move to T+1 settlement in the UK and Europe.
Joyce Thormann from our parent company, Euroclear, offered detailed insight into market preparations for the 2026 and 2027 deadlines. The discussion touched on challenges such as time zone discrepancies, FX considerations, and the continued importance of reference data, allocation matching, and securities lending.

Innovating with purpose
Donna Milrod, Chief Product Officer at State Street, shared how the firm is responding to rapid innovation across financial markets. She highlighted how State Street is evolving its asset servicing capabilities through AI and digital transformation, underscoring the importance of client-centric innovation.
State Street recently published an article about how they have “partnered with Taskize to deliver streamlined, interoperable enquiry management solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.”
US Treasury Repo Clearing
Jim Hraska, DTCC’s Head of Client Solutions for Clearing Services, delivered an important update on the evolving landscape of US Treasury Repo Clearing.
With mandatory clearing requirements on the horizon, participants are grappling with regulatory frameworks, clearing models, and implementation timelines. Jim provided clarity on the road ahead, emphasising the need for both banks and buy-side firms to take proactive steps to prepare.
Tackling digital custody and innovation
Simon Letort, Head of Strategic Initiatives at Digital Asset, led a compelling panel on Digital Custody, where panelists explored the growing divide – and overlap – between cryptoasset custody and tokenized asset custody. The session underscored the collaborative progress being made as the industry builds the infrastructure and standards needed to support digital asset custody at scale.
AI governance and the future of operations
AI was of course a hot topic at the summit, with Joe Alicata from Bloomberg kicking off a panel on governance. As regulatory frameworks like the EU’s AI Act take shape, businesses must adapt and the panel offered valuable perspectives on managing risk and ensuring compliance.
With Baltimore on the horizon for September’s ISITC event, we’re excited to continue these conversations and further explore how Taskize can support firms navigating the future of securities operations.
